Tyndale Choral Society offers apprenticeships to help local young people who enjoy singing become members of a well established choir. Admission to the scheme, which is open to students who are at school in year 10 and above, does not require sight-reading ability or knowledge of music theory.
Key features of the scheme:
no formal voice trial or audition is required
each apprentice is paired with a mentor (an experienced singer who supports the apprentice)
the Director of Music coaches apprentices, ensuring that they sing in the most appropriate section of the choir and receive advice and encouragement
no membership subscription or fee for music hire is payable
a good rehearsal attendance is a prerequisite to participation in concerts
to benefit from the scheme, an apprentice should commit to participating for a minimum of one year.
Please contact our ‘schools link coordinator’, Anne Shipton, if you would like to become an apprentice, receive further details or talk about the scheme.
