Passing the baton
For Tyndale Choral Society, the new 2004 season is one of change and excitement.
Michael Power, the musical director for fifteen years, has retired and passed the baton to Ian Harrold.
While Michael will be missed, especially after his successful farewell performance of Haydn’s Creation
in Dursley Parish Church last November, the society is eagerly looking forward to the new season.
Ian Harrold is a composer, experienced conductor and instrumentalist;
he is known not just for his musicianship but, equally importantly, for the infectious enthusiasm and sense of fun that he brings to rehearsals and concerts.
The programme for the summer concert will include the Vivaldi Gloria, Handel’s sixth Chandos Anthem and Ian’s own composition, Jubilate Deo.
The society rehearses at 19:30 on Monday evenings in Dursley. New singers are welcome; please contact
our secretary for membership details.
